The Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) is a transport scheme in London that charges drivers of non-compliant vehicles a daily fee to drive in the zone.  The scheme was introduced in 2019 and expanded in 2021 to cover all of London’s boroughs.  The ULEZ applies to all vehicles, including cars, vans, motorbikes, and heavy goods vehicles. The only exceptions are zero-emission vehicles (EVs), such as electric cars or hydrogen fuel cell cars.Â
